Please forgive my indulgence in using a picture of Mosi and myself in this website. I lost Mosi to lymphoma on the 21st of April this year (2021). She was 11 years old. Although Mosi doesn't feature mainly in this workshop, I do show a video of her in the nail clipping section. She is Laika's mum – the main star in this workshop. And also Amara's mum, and Rayna's grandmother.
This course was inspired by the many requests I got for help with grooming during the Covid-19 pandemic. Many became desperate to have their dogs groomed and many ended up reaching for the scissors due to their regular groomer being unavailable. Many have also decided that they would like to continue with grooming and clipping and scissoring their own dogs.
I posted lots of information on facebook and also posted some videos on grroming your own dog. These were ad hoc posts in response to some immediate needs, however they were not (nor could have been at the time) as detailed as the step-by-step micro lessons in this online course.
Having published Grooming the Tibetan Terrier Book in 2019, the areas that I did not include in the book, in detail, were clipping and scissoring. It is my opinion that this is something you cannot learn easily from a book, these need to be shown and explained in detail, as it is being done, for the safety of the dog and the groomer.
This course fills in the gaps that are missing for the complete grooming experience for you and your dog and is a great accompaniment to the book, although this course is by no means exclusive to the Tibetan Terrier. Any breed that requires clipping can be clipped following the videos in this course.
